Each one of us has a travel bug somewhere. We love to discover new places, explore off beat areas, be curious to know different cultures and make new friendships. But with all this, also comes the importance of Traveling Responsibly !!

As a traveller and blogger, I found it my moral and social duty to write a post about it to spread the word, that in my opinion, is the Bible, The Quoran and The Bhagwad Gita of Traveling.

  1. Always, and I mean always, carry a small map and tour guide to the place you are about to visit. You may     feel that in this age of Google, these are just not worth     carrying but in my experience, these are the must haves. Imagine you lose your phone, or are in a no network area or any such situation, these things will be a boon to you.

  2. Always follow a place's norms and customs. Respect their culture and  gestures. What might be a sign of respect in your community might be  offensive to someone else. Make sure about the people and their culture before visiting any place.

  3. There is a famous quote from the superhero Spider-Manmovie : "With great power, comes great responsibility ". Keep in mind that just because you had the freedom and privilege to explore a place before others, doesn't mean it gives you the liberty to destroy its sanctity and pristine form. Shun away from destroying the natural flora and fauna, its important places and don't ever be selfish enough to think "I don't careif other people get to see this beautiful amazing place like I did".

  4. No matter which place you visit, whether a small village in the hills or a big metropolitan, always try the place's regional, traditional and most famous food. It gives you an insight into their culture and brings you closer to the place and develops a special bond with its people.

  5. Whenever you visit a place, always remember that you don't own its roads roads and public places. Drive responsibly, follow the rules and respect others customs.

  6. Carry a pocket dictionary or a language guide to help you with basic conversation with the local people. Trust me, it will make your travel a bit more easy.

  7. Always carry a backpack of useful things like first aid kit, some munchies, protective gear, a compass and any other thing you might need in emergency.

  8. Before venturing out to explore any new area, do give a read about how safe it is and what is the best time to visit it. You wouldn't want your little adventure to turn into a life threatening experience.

  9. Never be afraid to make new friendships with fellow travelers or the local people. These are the people you can count on and will cherish your whole life. They are the ones you share your common interest and passion with and what else can be more amazing than having a friend in a foreign land whom you can always count on. At the same time, trust in your gut and keep away from any person who makes you feel uncomfortable and looks suspicious to you.

Let's all spread the love and keep  the keep the travel bug alive, leave the places in better conditions for others to explore and enjoy. It is our responsibility as travelers and also as humans to take care of the nature's jewels.

Hope the above points would help your next travel become simpler and more fun :)

Keep traveling, keep exploring !! :)
